My name is Ana Sofia and I ́m a Graphic Designer from Porto, Portugal.
My academical background includes a degree in Communication Design from the College of Arts Design in Oporto and an academic experience abroad, under the Erasmus student exchange program in Barcelona, Bau - Centro Universitario de Diseño, and some extra curricular courses, Workshop - introduction to serigraphy and engraving in University of Fine Arts in Oporto and course of drawing at University of Architecture in Oporto.
Understanding that practical experience is an essential addition to the theoretical aspect of the training, sought in the course of my degree, become involved in important projects in my area, I have actively involved in the organization of exhibitions and national Design conferences, as Experimenta Design (http://www.experimentadesign.pt/), and the Get Set Festival (http://getsetfestival.org/).
Added to these experiences an international training camp under the program Inov Contact, a program promoted by the Portuguese government for the realization of experiences professionals abroad, for which I was selected from among several candidates, and that led me to Brazil - more specifically to Santos, SP - the period of six months, developing work in the area communication in Instituto Elos (www.institutoelos.org) in which I took editorial projects and graphic/ illustration. Two years later I returned to work three months at Embassy of Portugal in São Paulo, as participation in the exhibition “Universo Bordallo Pinheiro - 20 Bordallianos do Brasil.”
With my return to Portugal, developed as a freelancer, communication and corporative identity in companies of pigment paste for tinting systems, in partnership with inks industry- GLC Quimica (www.glc-quimica.com) as well as graphics, illustration- printend/ patterns textile field in Baptista e Soares, SA. and Parfois and editorial projects for Brazilian companies like Plan. I also collaborated with some portuguese fashion brands as art direction for Weekend Barber (www.weekendbarber.com) and assisting on backstage at Teresa Abrunhosa fashion show.
I have extensive experience in prints and patterns area in Polopique Group (https://www.polopique.pt/pt), one of the biggest textile company in Portugal.
